Your DNA Your Say at the Million Genome Stakeholder Coordination Framework meeting as part of the ‘Stronger’ European Health Union

21st October 2020

Based on the promising opportunities of genomic medicine and the digital transformation, 21 Member States of the European Union (EU) as well as the UK and Norway have now signed a joint declaration to “work towards building a research cohort of at least 1 million sequenced genomes accessible in the EU by 2022” with the ultimate aim “to provide cross-border, data- driven health and care solutions to benefit citizens of the Union…” (Declaration, 2018).

The 1 Million Genomes Project puts ethical, legal and social issues at the heart of its work and Anna was invited to share the outcomes from the Your DNA Your Say to inform the project of the social issues of relevance to public audiences with respect to data sharing.
