Álvaro is a research associate at UnIGENe and the Centre for Predictive and Preventive Genetics, i3S, at the University of Porto. His main areas of research are the psychosocial aspects of genetics and processes of family communication about genetic risks and his interests also include the broader social and ethical aspects of genomic technologies. Álvaro translated the videos and survey website into Portuguese and will lead on the data analysis of the Portuguese data, together with Cláudia de Freitas.
