Estimados compañeros y colegas:
Esta es una invitación de la que nos sentimos especialmente orgullosos. De una manera extraordinaria, cinco sociedades científicas y profesionales se han puesto de acuerdo para organizar y celebrar el I Congreso Interdisciplinar de Genética Humana.
Generosamente, desde la Asociación Española de Genética Humana (AEGH), la Asociación Española de Diagnóstico Prenatal (AEDP), la Sociedad Española de Farmacogenética y Farmacogenómica (SEFF), la Sociedad Española de Genética Clínica y Dismorfología (SEGCD) y la Sociedad Española de Asesoramiento Genético (SEAGEN), renunciando a celebrar congresos individuales, hemos unido esfuerzos y trabajado en común para llevar adelante este proyecto que, creemos, será del máximo interés científico y clínico para todos los profesionales que tienen la Genética Humana como herramienta y objetivo esencial de su trabajo.
Todas las Sociedades implicadas hemos preparado un programa cientifico de excelencia, con ponentes nacionales e internacionales del máximo nivel; trataremos temas actuales y candentes del presente pero, sobre todo, discutiremos sobre nuevos conceptos y paradigmas, sobre las nuevas tecnologías y su impacto en la clínica, sobre las implicaciones éticas de nuestra investigación; en resumen, hablaremos del futuro de la Genética Humana. Tus genes, tu herencia, tu futuro.
Hemos programado ponencias, simposios y conferencias que tienen un carácter interdisciplinar, que interesan a los diferentes colectivos implicados. Pensando en los profesionales más jóvenes, hemos reservado espacio en el programa para realizar talleres educacionales y también para un elevado número de comunicaciones orales. Esperamos que estas herramientas sean de interés para todos y, especialmente, para aquellos que estén en formación. Contamos con el interés de la Industria para que presente avances tecnológicos relevantes y contribuya al éxito del Congreso. En resumen, esperamos que sea un lugar de encuentro, discusión y educación y que nos permita llevarnos algo nuevo al reincorporarnos a nuestra rutina.
Hemos elegido Madrid, no solo por las facilidades organizativas que esta ciudad ofrece sino también por su carácter. Madrid es una ciudad con muchos recursos turísticos y de ocio que nos permitirá, en nuestro tiempo libre disfrutar de su atractivo.
Finalmente, la Genética Humana no puede entenderse sin su vocacion de traslación del laboratorio a la clínica, de mejorar la actividad asistencial. Todos trabajamos con el objetivo de mejorar la salud de nuestros semejantes. Es precisamente ese objetivo común lo que une a todas nuestras Sociedades y este Congreso es, por su diseño interdisciplinar, la expresión más completa de ese interés.
Todos trabajamos para que los pacientes y sus familias tengan el más preciso, completo y temprano diagnóstico genético, el mejor tratamiento de los disponibles y el mejor consejo genético posible para su toma de decisiones, en resumen, nuestro objetivo es que podamos prestar la mejor atención posible. Tus genes, tu herencia, tu futuro.

Your genes, your inheritance, your future.
We have programmed presentations, symposia and conferences that have an interdisciplinary character, that interest the different groups involved. Thinking about the younger professionals, we have reserved space in the program to carry out educational workshops and also for a high number of oral communications. We hope that these tools will be of interest to all, and especially to those who are in training. We have the interest of the Industry to present relevant technological advances and contribute to the success of the Congress. In short, we hope it is a place of encounter, discussion and education and that allows us to take something new to reincorporate ourselves into our routine.
We have chosen Madrid, not only for the organizational facilities that this city offers but also for its character. Madrid is a city with many tourist and leisure resources that will allow us, in our spare time to enjoy its attractiveness.
Finally, the Human Genetics can not be understood without its vocation of translation from the laboratory to the clinic, to improve the care activity. We all work with the goal of improving the health of our peers. It is precisely this common goal that unites all our Societies and this Congress is, by its interdisciplinary design, the most complete expression of that interest.
We all work so that patients and their families have the most accurate, complete and early genetic diagnosis, the best treatment available and the best genetic advice possible for their decision making, in short, our goal is that we can provide the best care possible. Your genes, your inheritance, your future.
