The 100,000 Genomes Project. Many people – particularly in the scientific and rare diseases communities – are keen to see this kind of research happen, there are significant concerns around ethics, data, privacy and more. Genetic counsellor and social scientist Anna Middleton, based at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute outside Cambridge, is investigating how to bring forward more informed discussions about the ethics of genetics. Dr Kat Arney started by asking her to explain what some of the key issues are.
